We are now teaching the ADOT-MVD Authorized Third Party Driver License Training Provider Curriculum Program.  This program may be used to waive their permit or driving test at MVD.   Atlantic is one of the few schools to qualify for skill evaluation testing.  This is will begin the new Advanced program which will include the classroom and / or driving.

We always recommend that the student drives with us before you drive with them. They learn correct procedures and are much more fun to ride with!!!     As long as the student has their permit they can start the new driving program now!   Our goal is to go from chaos to tranquility with our lessons.

Learning to drive is like learning to swim. If you just jump into the water with little knowledge and skill on how to swim you drown. If you just jump into a car with out learning the skills, you can get hurt, hurt someone, crash or kill someone or your self. The more training you have the more successful you will be.  

When you learn to drive from a Professional Driving  Trainer  we make you understand how to do each maneuver. We break every move down so you understand how to do each thing. When you watch people drive it looks SO simple, but the beginner has a hard time learning what to do and how to control the muscles in your arms and legs to make these actions fluid.   

 

There are many options for class with Atlantic Driving School.

a. You get your permit with MVD, you then take private lessons with us to learn to drive.  When you are ready you go to MVD and take your road test.

b. You can take the 8 hour classroom to prepare you to take the MVD testing. The Fee for this class is $90.00. 

c. ADOT requires we do 30 hours of classroom to give written permit skill evaluation,  you need an 80% or better to get certificate.This class must be scheduled in advance. We must have 4 students, then we will schedule the class. The fee for this class is $150.00 in all locations. 

After you get a permit from MVD then you can start the driving program.  Under the Third Part Testing. You will have to do the 10 hour instruction program.  

Behind the Wheel Instruction is $230 for 6 hours, $300 for 8 hours and $400 for 10 hours of instruction in the Bullhead City area.  In Lake Havasu or Kingman the cost is $350 for 6 hours, $320 for 8 hours or $450 for 10 hours of behind the wheel instruction.  Driving lessons are now scheduled at least a week or two in advance because of number of people who want lessons!!!  It is suggested that a parent ride in the back for the last lesson.

Every student is required by MVD to do the practice drive time of 30 hour day & 10 hour night drive time. We provide a paper to document the drive time.   The more practice driving you do  the safer they will be. The students 16 to 18 must be on their permit for 6 months.  The parent has to sign a paper at MVD that the student did the practice driving.

WE ANSWER ALL OF THE "WHY"  AND HOW TO DO QUESTIONS ON  ALL OF THE SKILLS IN THE CLASSROOM AND DRIVING! We have the form to document this driving practice. The more you practice the safer you are. In today's world we live in a video/computer environment.  Where everything is instant and we only have to deal with our own problems. When we drive we have to interact with every other car/driver.  We have to deal with changes and ideas that can be different from ours at each moment of driving.  There is no restart button when things go wrong. We have to adjust to a whole new world of ever changing situations and problems. It takes 5 years of driving practice to become equal to the average driver, no matter how old you are.  

OUR CLASSES FILL UP QUICKLY. YOU CAN REGISTER MONTHS IN ADVANCE. YOU CAN THEM MAKE PAYMENTS FOR THE CLASS, must be paid in full on the day of the class.  

Students must have a permit to begin the drive time. AZ must be 15 years +6 months or older.  No one is too old to learn to drive.  

The classroom covers; Review of the Arizona State Drivers Manuel then; Proper driving skill development driving environments, defensive driving , risk management, right of way issues, responding to an emergency- car systems & maintenance, handling social pressures i.e. road Rage, alcohol, driving risks, insurance coverage, maintenance of the car and how it works.   Behind The Wheel Instruction: We explain all of the actions required for all driving skills. When the student now does the skill they understand why its done . so they make smooth moves with safety as a goal. The student will learn basic controls, stopping, turning, acceleration, lane changes, Center lane use, backing, driving in traffic, parking lot parking, parallel parking, evasive driving etc. If a student learns the correct procedures, when they get into problems, they do correct actions in a safer way!  

If you are under 18 you need to be on your permit for 6 months, Everyone needs to document 30 hours of day and 10 hours of night driving to get your license The people you drive with must be licensed and at least 21 years old. The more you drive the safer you become. It takes 5 years of driving to become an average driver.   For people over 18, after you complete the classroom and  6 or 8 hours of training, now practice driving is necessary. (Age has nothing to do with skill.)  Remember the more you practice the more you understand how to do the things, you learned from us.  You still need to take the driving test at MVD. Our program will make you a safer driver.  

This course will also give you a certificate to take to your insurance company for a discount. This discount continues for years into the future! The discount will cover most of the cost of our program! Reasons for Driver Education Have you been driving without a license in Arizona? We can help you with this situation. The full Driver Education course will help your testing skills to get your permit, give you more information on defensive driving skills to make you a safer driver. This class will improve your understand of what you need to do improving your confidence. Driving to pass your test is VERY different from driving in the real world!! You will feel much better with a real license!

Are you afraid to drive in traffic? Another reason for driver training is that maybe you have a license but have not driven for a while. Taking the Driver Education class is a great way to jump back into the driving environment. Many driving situations have changed over the years, being prepared for the new styles of driving will calm lots of fears. People who complete Driver Education have a 57% lower rate of traffic convictions than people who don't!

Don't Like the Way your Teen drives with their new license?  It is amazing that no matter how much the new driver thinks they know everything needed to drive, after their first lessons they appreciate the new ideas on how to drive safer. The normal 6 hour program will also give you an insurance discount which will pay for the classes.
